Electricity Monitors

Exciting new project taking shape!

With help from the Hikurangi Foundation and Tauranga City Council, we are setting up a project to loan real time digital household electricity monitors to Tauranga residents through the local libraries, with the aim of saving people money on their electricity bills and helping the environment.

Electricity meters help you save electricity (and money!) in two ways:

1.They show you how your choices affect your electricity use – so they help you get into more economical habits.

2.They let you know exactly how much electricity various appliances use, so you know which are the biggest users  (the biggest users are the uses that offer the biggest potential savings).


The Current Cost ENVI is  a real-time energy monitor that allows you to monitor your overall energy use and the energy use of up to ten separate circuits/appliances.

With your electricity price programmed in it will also tell you exactly how much your current energy use is costing you.

Your electricity use data is stored, so you can compare use and savings from one day to the next. You can download this data to your computer, view graphs and track hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and average data.
